Great Southern Regional Trails Master Plan released

The Great Southern Regional Trails Master Plan (draft) has been released by GSCORE for public comment.

Proposed new hiking trails included in the draft Plan include:

  • Greens Pool to Lights Beach Coastal Trail (William Bay National Park; with poss loop for overnight at Tower Hill Campsite on Bibbulmun Track)
  • Albany’s Historic Whaling Station to The Gap Coastal Trail (Torndirrup NP; following the coastline from The Gap lighthouse, to the Blowholes, to Jimmy Newells Harbour, Torndirrup Beach, Stony Hill to the Bald Head trail head etc).

Trail improvements are proposed for the popular Bald Head Walk (to improve track condition); Stirling Ridge Walk (to improve route information); plus others.

HikeWest plans to gather members’ views and submit our comments prior to the 19 January 2019 closing date for comments.
